The 6BTA 270 has the freshwater aftercooler which is a nice feature. The 330 has the seawater aftercooler which is a 2 year maintenance item. Supposedly some modifications have been made in materials that make the corrosion less of a problem. The 6BTA weighs #1035 which is a plus! The pricing issue ...

Re: 2021 Cummins options
I spent a portion of my day researching Cummins Options. I'm leaning towards the higher HP engines 330 to 350 hp then running them at 270 hp cruising speeds. Based on what I'm seeing its a cheaper option and would have better fuel economy. Please tell me if I'm wrong. Also I've generally been oppose...

Yep, tough decision.
I had always assumed that I was going to be repowering at some point. I'd like to use the boat in the Bahamas and that is not the place where you want to break down especially with Volvos, IMO.

Carl, You are right about ready to get this old girl moving. My problem is after vising Bertram Heaven, I've discovered these Volvo TAMD 60Bs in the boat likely have between 20,000 and 30,000 hours on them! However, they run pretty good. Re: Relocating diesel Fuel fill
What I'm not understanding is how you get from the fuel tank in the center of the boat to the side without crossing over/under the exhaust piping?
Mine is a wet exhaust so I suspect it doesn't get hot enough to create an issue for the diesel fuel but just curious as to routing on the fill hose.

They make several different sizes. The largest one has a Magna level lock rod holder insert which folds down about the size of a brief case. I thought about that as well. But we are limited on space and that area is so inviting to put something there. I have filled my companionway under deck areas in the bilge. One has a 3 KW pocket transducer and a livewell, washdown pumps. Another has batteries and the most forward area has a bilge pump.
