Rick, maybe I am not understanding you.... are you trying to make the cabin roof wider or the flybridge top which sits on top of the cabin roof? https://www.bertram31.com/bailey/buddyboy2.jpg The flybridge top. Re: Widening my Flybridge
I don't intend on enlarging the cabin. Just removing the top part of the fly bridge and sliding it out on the existing fiberglass. I'll have to fill in the section of the floor that goes with the sides. I may be missing something in the translation though.

Widening my Flybridge
I'm getting ready to widen my flybridge by 16 to 17 inches. I've looked at a boat which had done this and I'm extremely impressed with the result . I also see that Tropic Star is doing the same on their 31's . It maintains the B31 look but becomes much more functional, IMO. Because there was some pr...

one more question I don't have an answer for, why does the slope of the line change at a different speed? the new style prop seems to want to plane 1.6kts earlier, I would have thought the hull design would determine when the boat planes? 30% increase in fuel efficiency is huge. At $5 or $6 bucks a gallon for fuel it wouldn't take two long to pay for them.
I hadn't though about the repair issue for the props. Thats certainly a consideration.
I sent them an email regarding props for the 31. I'll post their response.

Who needs a "Free" Project boat?
I was offered a 42' Bertram (1979) that needs some work. The engines run (Cummins 903s) but the boat has not be away from the dock for 7 years or so. The berths are in pretty decent shape but the saloon needs a new interior. I was considering taking this on as a project boat especially after seeing ...

I saw an installation a week or so ago in a B31 with the racors and valves under the steps down into the cabin right at the end of the main fuel tank. I'm removing my side panes in my restoration. I need the room for gaffs and harpoons in my boat and side panels eat up a lot of space.
