John, Id split the deck at the rear engine bulkhead, and either remove deck from there back or just cut out center section above your fuel tank. Dug, Did a shark trip monday, landed a 150lb mako within 5 minutes of setting up the slick, big blue dogs all day, bluefin 20-80lbs were busting just south of coxes over the weekend. Heard of yellowfin at west atlantis. BH

Matt, Ditto on the big first, I did 8" 1708, 6" roven, 4" 1708, peel n ply on top for a slick finish that helps remove that pesky blush if your using epoxy. Dont forgot the big fat fillet first cabosil, high density and micro fibers all mixed up to a peanut butter paste, no sharp corners at the bulk...

John, How bout using a 6" pvc pipe, Ive used my aluminum bending brake to get flat rectangle shapes then lay up over the tin coated with release agent or visquene sheeting, may not be pretty but gets you basic shape. also look through the tupperware section at local box store, may find a shape close...

Gert, What type of flange do you have? Split type? Some flanges do have a large threaded nut at shaft end..I have the split type with key and locking bolts like you mentioned. PYI dripless way to go..BH

Carl, I have followed Bobs template of weight distribution..moved as much weight back and into the center as possible...need to keep the back end planted, and enough HP to get the hull "up" and out of the water..ride on any 31 with 300+ Hp and you will feel the sweet ride..Brews boat literaly jumps ...
