Randall, Tank commander helm just like Brewsters...he wrote the book on a how to build a fishin machine..Im just borrowing a few pages..
Sim, It only took about 40 hours to get the cabin and jig to this point...BH

Harry jig worked out great...it took about 3 hours to lay up each side and cover with peel n ply then roll all the air out..just kept flipping the jig over to work the layup on the flat..roof is next and try and figure out what I should do for windows. BH

Cabin Update, Finished laying up the cabin walls this week, two layers of 1708, one layer of mat on each side of the A500 3/4" foam. Did the outside layer on the jig then popped it free and repeated the layup on the inside. Hoisted it up on the boat this morning, next step is to plexus it to the ori...

Vic, My bottle jacks have a rubber plug or bushing thats pressed in to the top of the barrel, pull it out with needle nose and fill to that level..tough to find GOOD American made jacks any more...lots of foreign junk...BH

Bert 20, My tank came out the hard way...cut all tabs holding it down, most likely foamed in place, put lifting tension on the factory lift points, I used a mini excavator and had the back of the hull lifted off the stands..i then made some wedges and drove them in from both ends until it gave up an...

That looks like FUN....been in a few shotgun starts on my dads bertram...pays to have a great deep V under you...notice how the albemarle and the cabos roll like crazy...the 31s just plowed along, a bit more horesepower and the bertrams would leave em in the dust...BH

John, My tip would be to use peel n ply on any wetted out surface, rolls on top of wet poly or epoxy, helps to get air bubbles out making for a better finished surface..early next day peel off and presto top shelf surface for any prime, filler or paint...on Capt pats link to west system the mention ...

Harry, Looks great, makes for a much cleaner and no doubt stronger support. With the knee under that point it should take the load down to the deck and stringers. Put a pair of Bertram guys together and you can "fix" anything..nice job Harry n JP...BH

Raybo, The surf hunter was a hunt design, made in padnaram mass, sweet boat. Old timer has one where my dad keeps westwater, very hard to find, great ride...they made a few models, mostly I/O s, same nasty deep V as the Bertram...BH
