Re: Cummins engine beds
I tossed the stock cummins mounts not even close. I used plywood, 2 x 4s and cedar shims get it just where it "needs" to be. My machine shop guy loved them. Don't forget to leave extra room for the water pump impeller removal. I worked that forward engine mount until I could change the impeller with...

Re: Cummins engine beds
Twoanil, you have to make your mounts meet the engine shaft alignment. Each boat is different. I hung the engines from a gantry pulled a string from the rudders forward, set the rear engine mounts as low as possible to clear the hull with the tranny. The tranny angle and strut shaft angle are a "giv...

I agree with Bob, great batteries just don't discharge them too low or you have trouble getting them back. Kevin that is what happened to yours. To bring them back you need a very heavy duty charger to bring them above 12.6 then you can top them off. I have one that did that and have yet to find a c...

Re: How Bertram Lost It's Mojo
To me mojo is measured by time. A boat that can be run hard in various sea conditions and take the beating, shrug it off for the most part then go out and do it again and again and again speaks volumes. The quality construction starts with the hull, our rides are close to 50 years old and still toug...

Spencer, I used 3/4 coosa with a layer of 1708 on each side. That should give the bulkhead plenty of strength. Capt. Pats building tips shows how it's done. No hard angles to hull sides. Plain coosa won't cut it. More pics will help us point you in the right direction. BH
