Indeed I did cut a cross support, but between the drain race design and the hatch cover itself spreading the load that missing piece of support was of little consequence. Technically, Glasstech could have left that particular cross support off altogether...

No, it's not just you... Here's a comparrison between Jim Bailey's and Vince's. Vince's rudder ports seem to be about 2" - 3" further aft. Maybe more, it's hard to gage exact measurement from an image that not in absolute scale.

I'd stick with fiberglass and maybe add the crush rings. Cast iron weighs a ton and rusts... If you make sure that you'll have the hose onto the tube by at least 4" there's really no need for crush rings. John, Yes, you can fiberglass the crack from the inside of the tube, but only use polyester resin. Epoxy will fail under the heat of the exhaust... 2 layers of 1208 biaxle will do the job, or 4 layers of 1 1/2 mat. Be sure to grind back well to get ride of all carbon soot and over lap the crack by 2...

John, Obviously, you can't sink if the boat's on the hard. That said, I've seen several boats with inflatable bumpers plugging an exhaust hole. And with reduced shaft angle, how are you going to swing enough wheel to properly load a 380 hp engine? Two choices: Prop pockets or make up the load with pitch. Anybody for a 12 kt idle speed? 380 hp is just plain and simple too much engine for a B31, without serious modifications...

Another way to highlight in the properties window is to place your cursor on the url, hold down the control or command key and click on the url. Also, placing the cursor on the url and quickly clicking 3 times will highlight the complete url. Then right click in the highlight and copy.
