Alfagomma is a good name for the type of hoses that they produce, but I wasn't aware that they made marine wet exhaust hose... Much of their product line is for hydraulics. Is the hose labeled "Wet Exhaust" or similar?

Mix a quart of household amonia with a 1/2 cup of Wisk or detergent. Don't dilute with water. Sponge it on & keep the surface wet with the mix for about 5 minutes & rinse well.

I've never tried mechanically polishing anodized aluminum, but you don't want to use any heavy abrasive or you'll cut through the anodization. Try 3M Finesse-it II

I wouldn't bother cutting it, 2" width is going to be better than 1"...

It'd be better to install the strip directly to & along the stringers. Sooner or later that wood is going to need replacing and you'd be re-doing your bonding from scratch.

Merlin,

The 3/4" marine ply in the stringers were just used as forms for the glass layup & don't significantly add to the strength of the boat. There's no need to be overly concerned about securing anything to the stringers w/o bedding.

For the mid Atlantic area, a 10K would be the minimum, better at 12K. Down south & through out the Gulf, 12K is minimum, with 16K being preferred.

I doubt that you'd be sucking over 60 gph, so the 500s would work, but you'd certainly be OK with 900s. The 1000s would be way over kill at 180 gph rating...
