Craig, Don't leave it wrapped... The mold & mildew is combatable, but moisture between the shrink and Imron, along with summer heat, WILL cause you a world of grief. The rudder throw should approx 45 degrees either side of amidship. More than this puts undue strain on the system at high speed & less reduces your turning radius.

Yep, decreasing the hole diameter permanantly...

The port flange should be right against the outside of the hull, seperated only by 5200 bedding compound. Perfectly straight up & down isn't critical for rudders as is the alignment of propulsion shafts...
