Re: Trim Tab Project
Chris Interesting. Thoughts on tabs on a 31 are mixed. Most find that they help in a head sea. What did you find out about Zip Works? I believe they were originally a Volvo product. The attractive thing about them is that they won't get in the way when you are fishing. Just not sure how well they w...

Trim Tab Project
Thought I would share my experience with adding trim tabs to my 31 Bahia. My 31 is on the slower side, running twin Perkins T6.354 at 185hp each, with Hurth 2.0:1 transmissions, 18x23 Nibral props with a 060 cup and 1 3/8” shafts. After taking with Bennett, Lenco and ZipWake I decided to go with Ben...

Re: 454 Stumbling
If I could add my two cents from my own experience. Had the same issue on my old 28. Accelerating around 2400 rpms the starboard would would do the same as yours. Went through all the fuel and ignition systems. Came to find out that a wire on the back of my start/ignition switch was broken. Fixed th...

Re: Propeller Painting Input
I did a little experiment. One year I did the Home Depot cold galv spray on the shafts and props. I put 100 hours on the boat that season and when I hauled out there where barnacles and growth all over them. Last year I cleaned up the shafts and props and used nothing. Put 93 hours on her and the ru...

Thanks Yannis, I would've have really liked to make the deal happen and still would be interested. Perhaps the broker could do some more research on the US boat buying process and see that there is nothing wrong or concerning with doing a deal this way. It would be really cool seeing my old boat cru...

That is my boat. The buyer was from Greece and doesn’t understand how a boat mortgage works. There is no financial burden on my boat. And your “friend” dicked me around for 3 months and backed out on acceptance day.

Hey all, Happy New Year. I’m starting a list of projects that I need to do and parts to order for the boat and was wondering if anyone can help with sizes. Hey guys, thanks so much for the info you have provided as I continue to upgrade my boat. I am going to be installing a Bennett tab system. Going to go with 30x12’s. Trim Tabs Again
Hey guys, I’ve red quite a few posts on trim tabs on the 31. From what gather they may be beneficial to slow speed cruising? My 1970 Bahi Mar has low horsepower engines (Perkins 185hp) I cruise at 16kts fully loaded. I’ve been running the boat with no tabs for the last 3 seasons and never had a need...

Another Trim Tab Question
So i've read a bunch of posts about trim tabs and our 31's do not really need them. What about for a 31 that has a slow cruise speed? My 31 Bahia has twin Perkins diesels at 185hp each and that gets me a cruise of 15-16kts. No speed demon but she sips fuel. Do you think with a slower speed like I ha...

Hey there, just reading this now and not sure if you got your problem figured out yet. I just had the same issue and it ended up being a bad ignition switch. On the back of the switch one of the posts were broken. Replaced switch and all was good.

I am currently running 3 blade bronze 18x22.5. Engines run up to 2800. I have been trying to find what the max rpm is for these engines but can't seem to. 2800 may very well be the max rpm, I just want to make sure.
