Re: GM 8.2L 502 385HP EFI versus Cummins 270-300 Diesel
Actually, after continuing my research, the engine of choice is the 8.1 496 cu in 375 HP... Unreal, if you go 8.2, it is strictly 100% digital and adds a very significant amount to the install...Also, these 496's are around 15K without the gears...It is amazing how the price jumps when going from a ...

Hi Guys....My old Cummins 504s are going to be removed from my 31 this week...Was hoping if that the vast audience of 31 owners on this site may be able to give a realistic comparison of running New GM 8.2l 502 CU IN either fuel injected versus carbureted and a Cummins 6BT say 250-300 HP. I have to ...

Hi Guys...My 1980 FBC is still in the ugly duckling stage...Old Cummins 504s are coming out next week and then I will attack the boat cosmetically...The existing rear bulkheads and door are in terrible shape, so I removed them...Since I completely glassed in the new Holmsey windshield and will have ...

Hey Guys....Well the Cummins 504s that I inherited with my 31 project boat won't turn over so the decision on how soon to repower is now certain...These engines have Borg Warner 1.5/1 Model AS2 73C's attached....I am almost certain to repower with Cummins in the 270-330 range...Will these gears be a...

Hi Bob....I had a pair of 5 Blade Radici's on my 46 Hatteras 25 years ago...I picked them up on the cheap and sure enough picked up about 1.5 to 2 knots...I did find however that they were very difficult to maneuver the boat into the slip with strong wind and currents...But they were fast!! Hi Dug...Having spent hundreds of days and nights over the years 50 to 150 nautical offshore on both small boats (31 Berts) and up to 80 footers, I am a firm believer that when the proverbial shit hits the storm, one may not be able to orchestrate a survival strategy as efficiently as one thinks.
