I mounted my tabs directly onto the transom, and on the inside I fitted a 2 x 2 piece of mahogany bedded in BoatLife to the inside of the transom and hull bottom. The backing piece is a little longer than the hinge on the tab.

The Islander in Islamorada is really nice, but pricey--but so is everything else in season. It was completely redone after Irma. It is right across the street from the Lorilei, right on the ocean and close enough to Key West for a day trip.

Wait!! My bad--the wire from the starter switch has to be wired from the LOAD side of the switch to the normally closed side of the pressure switch. If you put it on the line side it would defeat the purpose of having the safety switch.

I'm not that familiar with diesels, so I need to ask do you have a transmission cooler in the seawater line between the raw water pump and the exchanger? All sorts of junk can get caught on the inlet side, and block the tubes so the water flow is restricted to the heat exchanger.
