Not all that familiar with the Yanmar engines but I do remember reading somewhere that there was a exhaust valve oil seal problem and a updated seal was put into service.
I most likely read it on the Boat diesel forum but I can't check because I'm no longer a member.

You can find out if your turbos are up to snuff pretty cheap with a boost gauge.

Could be an air leak somewhere and your losing boost. Check your hoses and clamps around the turbo and leading to the engine.

Not really familiar with your engines but had a similar problem with my cummins 6bta and turned out to be a turbo issue.

My marine is actually in a Federal Park and there has been no issues. People paint their own or hire out without any interference from the feds but that could change tomorrow.

Thank You. Boats here can see 2-3 years with only minor touch up if a quality paint is applied properly. My boat is in a slip 6 months a year no beach landings and definitely not normal for it to look like this.

There was some positive reviews on that stuff over at the Hulltruth awhile back. It is expensive and I got the impression whatever you use it on needs to be in decent shape with no pitting. I think this is the company web page

Thanks guys for the kind words. Bertramp Yes factory hardtop that was in rough shape the guys at Holtz had to do a lot of work on it. She's finally back in the water after a 2 year rebuild at Holtz. All she needs now are electronics and outriggers then we can take her fishing again. After a LONG two year stay at Holtz my boat is nearing completion. Although Sandy didn't beat her to badly it was an older restoration that was begging to be done again. Had a black smoke issue with my cummins and after going through everything else it turned out to be the props. They looked fine to the naked eye, even the prop guy said they "looked good" but after closer inspection he found them to be out of specs and cured my smoke issue.

The Taco has two controls on the lower half one swings them out the other for elevation. Looks like you would need to go up top to change the elevation on the rupp.
