Re: Insurance buy back

Carl I was down the boat today and the crane was there trying to pull it out but they got stuck in the mud. Now they are talking about putting in temporary road as there are boat further back that they can't reach. On the brighter side the salvage guys say they are taking the boats back to Nichols b...

Re: Insurance buy back

Heard conflicting reports as to whether Nichols will rebuilt...but at 15-20 million to rebuild with a year to year lease on the property...it seems very questionable unless parks department grants an extended lease. No idea whats going to happen...hoping my status moves up in Great Kills Yacht Club...

Re: Insurance buy back

Thank you for the suggestions I will contact any and all but with all the boats that were damaged I would think any decent shop in the NY/NJ area is going to have all the work they can handle for quite a while. I probably will have to go out of town if I want the boat back for next season and I don'...

Re: Insurance buy back

The motors seem to be ok they still turnover with no problem I went down and winterized the cooling system just in case. The boat is still sitting upright, clean bilge, hatches in place and tied up to the dock with my other dock mates in the marsh so I really don't think it took any water. I know wh...

Insurance buy back

I had a 31 Bahia swept away by the storm that is now lying in a marsh and expect to be contacted by the insurance co. soon as to its fate. It was an older restoration w/ 250hp cummins diesels which ran very well but the interior was in need of updating and was to be this years winter project. To me ...

My wiper arms are at the end of their usable life but I can't seem to find replacements that will fit the wiper pockets on my 31 bahia mar with factory hardtop. Tried Ongaro and they fit on the shaft (.54) but there is not enough room for them to turn in the small pocket. Its tough shopping online j...

Killa My side windows slide but the front has fixed glass. Still not sure what I am going to do, there are several custom window makers out there but that would entail modifying the frames and I am not real comfortable with that. I did read your directions on window installation but with such a narrow area for my glass to sit on I thought it might not apply, not enough support? I would have approx 1/8 in. for the glass if I used 1/8 pads. Could I get by with 1/16 pads or would that be too thin?

Bahia glass dilemma

Trying replace the windshield glass on my 1973 Bahia Mar with the optional hardtop. It was not the original glass so I really don't know how it was installed from the factory or if 1/4 safety glass is what came with the boat. The ledge the glass sits in is only about 1/4 wide x 1/4 high so it leave ...

We had some luck earlier this month with diawa sliders and spinning gear on the jersey side. I heard they were the hot lure up in the cape cod area so we gave it a shot but any thing similar should put you in the game. Bob, we tried every tuna and bluefish jig we had. Big and small, every color we had some we had not used in years. Tried live lining bluefish but the smallest we caught were in 3-5 pound range so maybe a smaller one might be better. Even the ever reliable wwb bally on a z wing didn't work. The slugo...

Tough to catch these fish, they are so keyed in on the sand eels they ignore just about everything. After three trips we got one to bite on a sluggo rigged on spinning gear. Good news is the bass are usually close by and provide relief after the tuna get you frustrated!!!!

Try using rock salt if you don't want anything to grow. After a one icy winter I had a hell of a time getting grass or anything to grow near my front walk after the rain washed it onto the lawn. And it dosen't cost half as much as weed killer.

be sure to buy the ones with the transom corners already heat bent, this will avoid having to miter cut the corners and will look 10000x's better.
