Here is a tip for shipping-- Mix a HDuty slurry of boat soap with just enough water to thin slightly. Coat the entire boat with the slurry, Let it dry on the surfaces, when you get to destination wash and re wash just once for an ez protection. Just checking but did you disconnect the Ram from the Rudder Tie bar and determine the rudders are free moving? Then you can also operate the hydraulic side without any load against it.

Just a thought--
If I am not mistaken that motor has the intake gasket with o-ring seals on it and they are known to fail. Felpro makes a better replacement gasket which eliminates the o-ring type seal. Worth checking before major surgery.
