Re: Need for speed

I agree with Tony, I notice a difference with the Bimini up. It IS like a parachute.
Even while docking in windy conditions I take it down, otherwise the wind pushes the boat around like it has a sail.

Re: Need for speed

A guy approached me in the yard last summer to discuss his B31 project and his method for achieving more speed. He is putting the engines in reversed and utilizing jack shafts. Along with this he will have no thru hull fittings other than one for a single/central box that all will draw off of. No bo...

Thanks Tony and Carl,
The Walters does seem like the same principle, however it's far less of an engineering marvel, looks pretty simple, which probably means is a lot lest costly too, and it looks easier do work under water.

Re: Additional Water Tank or Bladder question

I could use bolts on the frame that allow me to remove the poly tanks for hurricane season..that would be smart. The docks have a hard enough time without something like that helping it lift and separate.

Re: Additional Water Tank or Bladder question

Pete, that was one of my first ideas....since I want water AT the dock and cargo space is precious on the boat. I was envisioning a large tank (the barrels are a good idea) that I could build a frame under the dock. The trick is pumping it back out to the boat. There is a guy on the island that has ...

Additional Water Tank or Bladder question

My dock in the islands has no water or power. I could keep the boat at the nearby marina but that has a cost. Getting water to the dock is a gargantuan project as there is no city water; all water is supplied by collection cisterns under the house and my house is probably 1000 feet away from the doc...

I don't want anyone hitting it with a hammer either.
The number of parts would make it more challenging in the water and a tank I believe would be a MUST.

I just saw this product. Wondering if anyone has used this device. Looks like a sure fire way to pull a prop and a nice way to install. Wondering if there are any downsides in having the 3 holes in the hub of the prop.... Changing a prop underwater is not fun, changing it without a tank is even less...

Sea Water intrusion in Side Pockets under Dinette Table

Just got back this morning from the Bahamas. My dad sat at the dinette most of the crossing. He said once in a while when we would go into a deep trough he would feel water spraying him in the legs. If you want to add a little more wood, this may balance things out a little. You already have covering boards.
