Here's one I had not read yet. Excuse the repetition if this was posted already on the main site. Great writing, makes you want to be there. Interesting that the O'Day boat, probably designed by Ray Hunt is the boat in 2nd place. 50mph at 4100rpm, must have been a light boat. http://www.si.com/vault...

Thanks Preston, I'll check it out. It's amazing to read this book and think that they had none of the modern luxuries we have today for piloting your boat. They go from NY to the bottom of the Antilles and back via sail in the 40's. He says, "anyone can pick up a book and learn celestial navigation"...

Old Bertram Book: Caribbean Cruise
I collect old books on the Bahamas and enjoy reading them. Reading these books allows me to jump back in time and enjoy the unspoiled, less inhabited places. I usually find them on ebay for 1 dollar to 10 bucks. However this time I splurged and paid $29 bucks. Somehow I tripped across a book from 19...

Thanks Pete. I've got a stern drain plug pulled. I can pull the plug in the center out as well if you think both should be out.

I'll call them about the chain and the keel blocks too.

Thanks guys. They have always used keel blocks for support, hard to see in this picture...but now you have peaked my interest. I'll call them first thing Monday when they open to ensure. The ground is very flat blacktop or concrete, no gravel in that area so I think we are good with the stands. The ...

Duchess is hauled for Hurricane Season. Before I send a note off the the marina/yard I thought some of you might see anything else to recommend. I'm not in the Bahamas right now. Due to the size and placement I would think a local vendor should measure and replicate what you have. I have used a place out of Central FL for Boston Whaler stickers, but I simply sent them the artwork and size. This is a more hands on job. BTW, I had one of these, great boat. Everyone likes pictures they say. So I've attached a few to go with this story. We recently had a near lighting hit which took out a few switches and thankfully nothing else. If it didn't have a flybridge it would be close to identical to my boat.

Question: Can I use this same recipe for cleaning Mahogany seats for our old 13' Boston Whaler?
I just sanded years of varnish off two seat planks. There are some black lines still in the wood grain. Will using this same recipe be the proper thing prior to varnishing the seats?
Thanks.

Jimmy There's probably a way to get 6LP's. I'm an optimist. They can't be sold to a USA customer. I was able to purchase them as my boat is titled in the Bahamas. We did the install work here....and no one checked anything. Probably more of an issue to the Yanmar distributor than it would be to you....
