I was just thinking about the same question. Looking forward to others response.

I have plastic boxes now.

I think the boxes are good at keeping the terminals isolated from the elements. Probably their main benefit over a tray or bracket.

So Jack, what was the issue? Was it air filters?

I'm having an issue right now. Only gets up to about 2000rpm then black smoke if I push the throttles farther.
I have 315 6LP engines.
Bottom is clean, props are clean.

Will check air filters after reading this thread.

I've got a buddy moving to the US VI's, running his 29' Strike down there to move his charter fishing biz to a more southern location.

Here's a little more thought on the matter. Hoping someone has installed a lift or has some engineering input. He broke his cell phone the day before the hurricane. We did not suffer much damage or flooding in our locations. He and Shirley came through the storm OK I believe, I spoke to her the day after on her cell, it seemed all was fine. He's probably busy, without a cell phone and working, etc.

Tony, Hope Town did fine. Lost power for a day, minimal damage. Andros and Grand Bahama got the worst of it. Photos just now showing up. Destruction in some areas.

I have group 27's with those engines. One battery per engine. One for the "house". All switchable among each other.
Curious if anyone has preference of battery type in this scenario. Water battery, AGM, Gel???

I use a handheld Garmin so I can simply input the same data from the Garmin on the boat with the chip. I'll try to remember to bring it up some time to show you.
