UV:

The trick is to close the seacocks after you get the anti-freeze in the raw water side. The reason we use the pink stuff is that it also has a lot of corrosion inhibiters in it so all our expensive (remember I have volvos and you hnow how much those parts costs) pipes don't corrode.

I did not redo my stringers -- I used their products to build a support platform for my new composite cockpit deck. Anyplace where I was going to use mechanical fasteners, we drilled an oversized hole and laminated in solid fiberglass. Prices were very reasonable.

Do not use anything but Peter Legnos' barrier coat. It is made out of Vinylester and it is far better than anything else on the market. I know your family and his family are friends, and he is the man to talk to about the project.

Chris: Do you have personal liability coverage as well? The reason I ask is my carrier, Liberty Mutual, insures my house, car and boat. I took out a million dollar personal liability policy with them and my premiums overall dropped by over $500 -- and the personal liability policy is only $246. Tom

Just as an FYI, the guy the owns/runs the Finest Kind has two Bertram Charterboats as well -- a 35 -- Reel Hooker, and a 31 -- Exact. All three boats operate out of Lahaina Harbor.

Where are you staying on both islands? I can make some recommendatinons if you haven't been there before.

Have any of you guys seen the Great White lurking off of Shinnecock? I've seen reports on Noreast pushing the shark to 30' with an estimated weight of 3,000lbs plus.
