Re: 25 Flybridge power opinions
I re-used my Velvet Drives since they weren't all that old. Had to have them rebuilt, though, because on sea trial, I blew a seal and burned one of them up. I replaced the prop shafts, but I used the same size. Didn't even have to change the pitch on the props.

Re: 25 Flybridge power opinions
Good choice to stick with the 350's. I did that back in 2004 with my v-drive B25 and never looked back. Same footprint, and horsepower increased from 225 to 325 each. And then, I had no problem coming into Pensacola Pass on an outgoing tide. Gained a significant increase in fuel economy also. I also...

Re: Another B25 came home
Great to hear from you guys. Funny enough, I've been approached by one of the guys who bought my old B25 to see if I had any interest of buying back in! Not too interested since I'm kind of an "all or nothing" sorta guy. Not ruling out the B20 idea, but for the time being, I came across a fully rest...

Howdy Scot, Been away from the board for a while. I sold Queen of Hearts to a group of guys from the church a few years ago who decided they wanted her more than I did! Oddly enough, they approached me last night to see if I wanted to buy back in. Not sure I do since I really don't have time right n...

Re: Bertram 20 Bahia Mar
I got some more info from the owner. He claims it's a '64 model, but he's not sure. The engine is out of the boat, but it does fire right up and run. He also has the outdrive foot. The trailer does, in fact, come with it. He was previously asking $5,000, but he said he'd take $4,000 for all of it. F...

Bertram 20 Bahia Mar
I was over in Gulfport, MS yesterday and saw a B20 Bahia Mar for sale sitting on a trailer in front of Coast Cycle World on Pass Road. I snapped a few pictures, but I don't know how to post them here. It looked like it was in pretty good shape, but it didn't have an outdrive. The sign said it had a ...

Re: V-drive went south
I had to remove my engines when I replaced my old Paragons with Walter units. I bought the v-drive/transmission packages from Transmission Marine in Fort Lauderdale, and they were very good to work with. Never had a problem with these packages. Exact replacements for the old units.

You shouldn't have any problem with overhanging trees or cables between Interstate 10 and Bahia Mar Marina. Just go south on Hwy 29, and veer right onto Pace Blvd and it'll take you straight to it. I used to keep my B25 there until Hurricane Ivan in 2004. The dry storage building collapsed, and then...

I had a similar thing happen on my gassers in the B25. The engine oil and transmission coolers are integral in the same shell.
