I left a rubber mat on the bridge for a couple weeks. Rain water got under it and it stayed wet. Water will migrate right through topside paint and cause it to blister.
VC Performance Epoxy on the bottom if you don't need anti fouling protection. Good stuff.

I forgot to mention bring a hack saw. If you are going diesel you will be modifying your exhaust double outlets to a single so you can just cut the flexible pipe after the mixer. Thanks for the idea with the gas shocks. Buddy came over yesterday and he had a couple old shocks and mounting brackets so we started checking for mounting points. I think I can make it work. It will cost a fraction of the price of a single actuator and like you said less stuff to fail.

I use an Intova underwater camera. Similar in size to go pro but much cheaper. Battery is built into the camera and the camera is built into the housing unlike the go pro. I have been happy with it so far.
