Anybody got any word on PE? Haven't heard anything and was wondering if the channel is dredged well enough to get in.

I ran a 28 with 180hp Yanmars for a couple of years and all I can tell you is that you're going to be the slowest boat ever created. You'll be lucky to get up on full plane with that little power and without tower and additional weight, I'd be surprised if you could get more than 13 knots. Mine had ...

Interested, but I have questions. I recently developed a problem with tachs failing or jumping when the genset is on. Genset is newly replaced and I guess I have a mag field issue. I have faria gauges which my mechanic hates and suggested I replace with Livorsi. Question, would the Flo-Scan replace ...

Andre, you're reading my mind. If UV were ever to consider changing this to a democracy, then my vote would be for late May. There aren't any big money tourneys in the way and the weather is usually good and comfy. Venice Marina is great and it shouldn't be any big deal to reserve accommodations thi...

Probably for the same reason they stopped making Bertram31's. Short sighted managements not recognizing that they had long term products. Walter Probably quit making that one because it was wood. But it sure does resemble the 29 Strike. Good boat for short fishing. Nice ride and efficient, but wet ...

Lots of blood from a good tuna kill and those tiny scuppers weren't the problem. If I recall correctly, the deck hatches weren't plumbed overboard and they just let the blood and water from the recesses drain into the bilge. My 35 is that way right now, but not as much leaks into the bilges and sinc...

Nice guy from my brief interaction and great lures. The recent ones have not been as good. There are quality issues with the resin and inserts and a good number of the off center and curved leader tube lures are not as they should be. Still, the simpler designs catch fish and the old lures are great...

Xanadu was for sure a heavy 28. I believe the 28s weigh the same as a 31. One thing I'll add is that we never determined our running by RPM. It was based on the pyrometer readings. We ran it at around 1100 degrees and never much more. Perhaps that is too conservative, but its what we were instructed to do to make them last and last. I think we put 1200 hours in .2.5 years...

My 28 had the 170s and it was a slow ass pig. We had a full tower and genset and the boat was fully rigged and ready. Actually, it was a fine boat and very fuel efficient, but it was very underpowered and made about 16kts with an average load. Fully loaded we would sometimes be closer to 14 into a c...

My 35 doesn't have one and I miss it all the time. But my question, Captain Pat, is what were they originally designed for? 3116 Turbo Oil Leak - Help?
I've got an oil leak on the turbo of my 3116 on the starboard side. My maintenance guy says its the bearing seals and that usually this would occur as a result of an emergency shut down where the unit was shut off without allowing it to return to normal tems. Certainly, this isn't what happened. Any...
