Travelers decided not to renew for Targeted Species. I had 2 claims, and they made some comments about the age(46 years young) of the boat. Any recommendations on who I should contact to get her insured??? Thanks for any replies. Kipp

Re: Port Eads rebuilt?
Spent two weekends fishing tournaments out of Port Eads, and looking forward to the NO Invitational this weekend. Great facility, and very accommodating folks running it. Had breakfast with John Burrell who owns High Adventure, the outfitter managing PE. He was fascinated with Targeted Species and is...

Uncle Vic Memorial Tournament
There will never be another UVI, but I can't think of a better way to honor the man we all loved than to have a B31 gathering/tournament at Port Eads. Construction is moving along, and for sure we could have one there next season. If we have it ,one thing is certain. Vic will figure out a way to win...

Thanks for the input. Service is not our main issue. We trailer Targeted Species, and the dealer in Port Sulphur is my client. Many of the Venice offshore guides have been running them with NO problems However, will definitely spring for the 6 yr warranty. We are mainly hoping to improve our fuel ec...

Posted this before the Tsunami made it impossible to get the new 300 Yamaha 4 strokes. Wanted to run this by the group again, now that my local dealer can get 'em. Anyone have experience with, or comments about these engines as replacements for our 250 Etecs. Apologize for bringing up outboards. It ...

Seems as though Luis is calling for A Gulf Coast B 31 gathering. Any of the faithful interested? I can get a couple of camps, plus mine. Cypress Cove is trying hard to be a more friendly place now that Rene Cross owns it. They would work with us I'm sure. Fall is a great time for fishing offshore of ...

Mike, Don't have to or even need to repower. E-tecs are still under warranty and running strong. Will get more for them, now. Just curious about 4 strokes, since they have become an option for us. And I'm not easy to please. Started offshore fishing in Fountains. Would let us fish, when other boats ...

Since my son, Capt. Richard, will be chartering "Targeted Species" this season we are considering repowering. No. Not gonna take off the bracket; put the boxes back in and switch to diesels. We are happy with our outboard set up. The 250 E-Tecs have given us 5 good seasons. Stuck with 2 strokes, bec...

Vic forgot to mention that the archeologist also found the skeleton of a 300 lb blue marlin(minus the bill that hangs in my camp in Venice). That was Targeted Species' first UVI,and the blue(1st on the boat)died in the fight. We debated about bringing it back into Port Eads. Worried about this group...

Capt Bone, No handling issues at high speed that our trim tabs can't take care of. Really not a problem. With the new tower giving us a more solid ride, I have an even greater appreciation of the B31 hull. Wish our fuel burn numbers were a little better. That will be the only thing slowing Targeted ...

Capt Bone, WOT is 35 knots Cruise at 27-28 knots Running fuel burn is a little over one mlie per gallon. Trolling is where you diesel guys do much better.
