It was 15 here in Eastern VA this morning. It is up in the upper 20's right now. You Northern guys need to come and get your cold out of my backyard!!!
I doubt I will get much sympathy since we only have a dusting of snow on the ground.

It should be the federal documentation number. They have to list the net tonnage.

Re: Oil & Tranny Coolers
My 440's were installed in the early '80's . I did not change my coolers until the mid-2000's, just because it seemed like a good idea, not because of failure. The engines are freshwater cooled, but the oil and tranny are saltwater cooled. The boat has been on the Rappahannock River all its life. Ch...

It is nothing more than a hydraulic cylinder. Any double acting cylinder of the same bore and stroke will work. Finding one made of marine grade materials is the hard part. Also any competent hydraulic shop should be able to rebuild it if it isn't too corroded. Also any other marine steering manufac...

Re: Cooler Seat/Livewell Design Advice
If it were me I would put a flush bottom drain in each rear corner so you don/t have the problem of water being trapped on the non-drain side of the cooler. Maybe make them large enough so that you can use the SS screen drains you can get for the kitchen sink. Save having a macerator pump. Also, if ...

Yikes! Near me (30 miles) and I hadn't even heard about it! What a shame! Probably no one around to report it early on. Of course these thing accelerate so fast with all of the fuel, wood and fiberglass that it was probably out of control quickly.

I hate top mounted spin on oil filters! What a mess to change even if it somehow catches the oil. I wonder why they didn't use a cartridge type oil filter in that location. Invest in a needle scaler to get the old paint off. Northern Equipment and Harbor Freight both have reasonable priced models.
Here is the cheap one I use. It also works great at cleaning the running gear of growth.
