The pre-tensioning should take care on any play, unless you see any pitting, scarring or discoloration on the rollers or the race..

Tony: I wasn't thinking of really high temp things like the manifold. I was thinking bellhousing or transmission bolts. High temp anitsieze on the other bolts.

I don't know about those guys, but I have used Carbs Unlimited with good success. Of course I was getting the Carter AFB's rebuilt. They do test run every carb before sending them out though.

Put grease on you drill and tap to hold the chips. Drill slowly so it doesn't get thrown off. Use Alumtap with the tap, even if you put grease on it to keep it from galling the threads.

I agree that there is not room for rod storage above the headliner. I hang my lighter fishing tackle from the overhead and store my heavy stuff on the v berth cushions. not ideal, but it works.

Yannis: 5200 is a very flexible and strong product. You could punch a bolt through as you are talking about (although that is not as easy as it sounds with this stuff), but for screws, which I assumed his were, the flexibility of the product makes it hard to break loose, even with an impact hammer. ...

I built a platform above the headliner under the flybridge and put in a hatch slightly off center to the port side so I could stand on the dinette seat to access it. I think having the outside flush polycarbonate lens to protect the inner light may make the difference.
This is one of the newer models with the lens molded into it. My lens was separate, but I think I bought them in the mid 80's.

Mine is a 1966. Those are Morse aluminum docking lights. The salt eventually ate the aluminum housing after 30 years and I now have Barnegat lights with the flush cover on them. I love them, but some don't like the way they look.
