Kevin: Check out the new Blue Seas switch/isolator combo that was intoduced at the Miami Show. It has the added benefit of having a combined position so you don't need a seperate solenoid to hook all the batteries together if you starting bank goes dead. The Edelbrock carb is the same as the carter AFB. Good carbs. I have AFB's on my 440's and I have one of the Edelbrocks on a flatbed truck. i couldn't see any differences in their construction.

It might be an interesting application for Mastry's geared drive splitter. Single engine but twin drives. Go with a Steyr with the generator attachment in the bellhousing.

And oil cooler hoses. Remember that a drop of oil can travel pretty far from its source on all of the hoses and wires on the engine. Clean the engine and bilge, find the drip point and then work your way back up whatever is oily!

Blue Seas are great!!! They have a new Battery Switch/Combiner they debutted at the Miami Show. I talked to the rep about them and I think I will install two on my boat in place of my regular Blue Seas switches so that I can run house battery with out the problem of running the starting battery down...

The suction lines for the blowers should extend down into the lower portion of the bilge so that it can suck out gas fumes that settle there. My gunnel vents only had short (2') hoses on them.

You can also solder the connector onto the wire, which helps prevent corrosion at the connector. Use glue lined heat shrink over that and corrosion shouldn't be a problem. You can also put heatshrink over any cracked areas on the existing wires if you want.

Mikey: Do you still have the original metal one? I want to get mine rechromed, but it would be easier to have yours rechromed and then swap my guages directly from one to the other. Less chance of screwing it up that way!! Have fun in the islands- you won't be missing anything here!

It could also be the starter solenoid, but I don't know if that would be intermittent. Most of mine have been straight out failures. Next time it happens check for current coming from the starter side of the solenoid. if you have current there, check for loose cables and good current at the starter....
