I splashed last Thursday, then flopped on Friday when I burned a hole in the top of a piston in my 440's. I tried to run too hard to a boat on fire with last years gas. I knew it was a risk . . . How much does your boat/trailer combo weigh? My 2006 F250 diesel crewcab weighs an honest 8000lbs with full fuel and driver. That only leaves 15,500 trailer an payload weight. The only diff in towing capacity for the normal 350 vs 250 is the 350 has greater axle weight which allows greater pin/tongu...

"Continually improving . . ." yea, I bet!! Interesting story though. All of the private guys around here with the big flat bed goosenecks haul loads that are over the CGVW of their 1 ton trucks, and say that DOT doesn't bother them as lonf as the truck and trailer are licensed for the weight. Same s...

It is a cheap beer usually sold at low end convenience stores!! (Sorry Vic, I couldn't help myself!) Actually I think he is looking for a patrol boat like in Apocalypse Now. Uniflite built a lot of them. Water jet powered with diesel engines. I hear they were great in shallow water. Bruce, check Boa...

I just put all quick connects on mine. makes it much easier being able to disconnect my two hoses from the pump and from each other, as wellas removing the handle and wand. I also got a second handle without a wand. It is extremely handy in tight areas such as bilges. I have quick connect nozzles th...

Ted: Keep soaking them with CX. It works well over a couple of days. Use an impact wrench on the plugs if you can get it on them. Otherwise put pressure on them with the breaker bar and a piece of cheater pipe if there is room. Hold the pressure on them for about 30 sec. They should break loose. Hea...

Cool, but not necessary. Keep a chartbook with you to review as you are approaching inlets, etc. Check the refresh rate. When running course up, the faster the refresh the better. I am also on the Chesapeake, on the Rappahannock River. I use Petit Ultima SR ablative bottom paint. $220/gal at West Ma...
