I splashed last Thursday, then flopped on Friday when I burned a hole in the top of a piston in my 440's. I tried to run too hard to a boat on fire with last years gas. I knew it was a risk . . . Oh well, at least I tried! First lesson in emergency rescue: don't break your boat trying to get there, ...

You might want to keep it all bronze so you don't run into a galvanic corrosion issue. Also it is easier to work with. A quick soak in 50/50 muriatic acid/water bath will clean up your old parts - just don't overdo it.

True, but I have had my Xantex and the same Optima gel cell batteries for 6 years and they are still going strong. I'm going to replace the batteries this year as a precaution, but I recommend the charger if you can keep it dry.

My best friend had one of them and he loved it. He sold it and now I have to listen to him cry about missing it all the time. It was a well built boat, but had some peculiarities. It needed to run faster than the gas would allow to get the best ride though.

I added the wedge type Groco strainers with the perforated stainless steel plate, not the slots. Since I already had the Groco internal strainers I left them in place out of an abundace of caution. I havewn't seen anything in them in two years.

How much does your boat/trailer combo weigh? My 2006 F250 diesel crewcab weighs an honest 8000lbs with full fuel and driver. That only leaves 15,500 trailer an payload weight. The only diff in towing capacity for the normal 350 vs 250 is the 350 has greater axle weight which allows greater pin/tongu...
