I plumbed my washdown and livewell off of the engine intakes. I kept the tee close to the seacock and I have never had any trouble with them sucking air or depriving the engines of adequate water I do have valves on them so that I can isolate them if necessary. I just put a tank full of B100 in the truck on Monday. It always amazes me how quiet it runs on straight Bio!! You can burn that in the Summer, you could go with the stock B20. It will take care of the lubricity issues, but you will need to be mindful of the bugs and add biocide. I have tried Bio-bo...

ASSUMING THAT THE LOWER MANIFOLD IS FRESHWATER COOLED. Use the blockoff plates and two standard gaskets. Use Aviation Permatex on the gaskets. DO NOT USE RTV. There is a gasket that supposedly does it all. DO NOT USE IT. It will fail within 5 - 10 hours and trash your engine. This comes from several...

I have just a rope capstan to pull in my anchor. It is not as convenient, but I get to keep my Bowchock and it fits in my boathouse easier! The downside, of course is having to go up on the bow to anchor. I use rope rode with a chain at the anchor.

The advantage to hydrogen fuel cells is that you don't have to wait overnight to charge the thing. Electric cars are fine about town, but on the road they are handicapped by range and charge time. Something in between that used batteries around town and hydrogen on the road may be more practical (re...

Or use the single engine to dual prop gearbox that Mastry was offering. Go with one big Yanmar running both props. You could retain the twin engine handling, but would lose the twin engine redundancy. With modern diesels that may not be a big issue. He could then build the center console into the en...

Timbor or any other borate based product will take them out. it coats the surface of the wood like sugar water. It is water bases, so it can be washed off. Bob: I bid on a Baron in VA Beach that had a 427 with transmission and Alpha drive in it! It was a tight fit and they did have to cut deck in front of the engine hatch, but it was in there!! It floated a little low in the back. A built small block would have been a better setup for that boat.
