When an impeller goes bad you should fit all of the pieces back together to make sure that you got all of them.

Re: Big Fish Pictures Video And Prop Guard Q
The purse boats for the menhaden fleet here use them to, but they are chunky locally built contraptions that would not allow you to plane. That is why I suggested a flip up type setup so you would not affect the handling and performance of the hull.

Re: Big Fish Pictures Video And Prop Guard Q
How about a flip down pipe cage that is secured to the transom with pad eye hinges. Flip it up against the transom for running, down for fishing. You could use the same cleats to hold it up or down. Sort of like the flip out pipe extensions you see on pickup tailgates.

The Edelbrocks are Carter AFB clones. I you need a rebuild, Carbs Unlimited does a good job on them. They replace yours with a rebuilt one that has been test run and has a 6 month warranty.

Keith for future reference a lot of the Sherwood pumps can have the front part attached to different cast rear housings. I did that on my Chrysler 440's. In John's picture they are using 6 dollies as opposed to maybe three (I could tell how many were under the stern of the capsized yacht - only one under the bow) for the failed launch. Big difference.
