Re: Fuel tank going back in...
Thanks for the tips, I'll follow through with the foam recommendation; my tank was tabbed to the stringer and bedded on the bottom with some sort of material that looked like 5200 but was hard. I assume that was done at the factory because the vertical deck supports had never been removed. For that ...

Re: Fuel tank going back in...
Pete, Thanks for the reply. I have replaced all deck supports since removing the tank and have glassed in a coosa board "deck" to support the tank (replacing the plywood that was rotted and falling apart). There is plenty of space underneath the coosa for drainage to the aft and to fish out what fal...

Re: Water tanks
I just bought two of these, they fit with room to spare under the cabin deck. Allows room for fittings on top for fill and vent and on ends at bottom for feed to supply freshwater as needed. 44 gals total should be adequate. http://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=RW-B134" onclick="window...

Re: rub rail installation
I am soon to be doing the same job, what size screws did you use to install the rub rail? Did you use 5200 or 4200 under it? The Whittacker guy who sold me mine recommended 5200. Any comments? Capt. Pat, what primer to use on the PVC? Thanks.

Re: New Bertram 31 Owner, Georgetown, SC
Definitely was original FBC per hull #, never had a lower helm. "Tracks" from head wall and stbd cabinetry are still evident. Progress is being made... Engines have been gone over and repainted, and are ready to get in place(many thanks to Anthony at Marine Propulsion on Wadmalaw). Reed has the guys...

Freshwater and holding tank location for FBC
Have searched the forum but am coming up empty on ideal locations for placement of freshwater and holding tanks. I have located several that will fit in the space where the original 10 gal? tank is now. Ronco: http://www.tank-depot.com/browse.aspx?id=8" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;....

Re: Shaft and Rudder alignment
Ok, I've read all these posts and have a question. I'm removing my fuel tank (222gals? she's a '76 FBC) in order to gain access to replace the deck supports and bulkhead just forward of the tank; since it's going to be out anyway, should i tab it back in a little more aft of the original position? I...

Bob, That looks like what I need to do to support my Glas tech deck. Are the "ledgers" that are on the hull sides and stern in the photo Coosa?
