Matt I just replaced my steering cylinder.....I am guessing that the cylinder diameter is about 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 inch OD. I can measure the old one tomorrow or whenever if you need me to do so. I chose to hook up my shaft seal water supply directly to the back of the raw water pump.....no real reason....

Of all of the work I did on DeNada.......the steering was the most disappointing. I removed the Rudder Ports, chucked them in a lathe and took cuts in the ID to "True Up" the worn out of roundness. I rebedded the Rudder Ports so that they were just slighty off center of the prop shaft.....just so I ...

We use a pair of bearings mounted on a heavy base. The bearings make somewhat of a "Vee Block". But in the field you can use 2 x 4's to construct a Vee block and the results will be very accurate. Sounds to me like there is a "Hook" in the hull.......but the negative tab don't support this idea......unless may be your having to add tab to only one side.......even that don't add up......

Bobby I think that you can pressure test up to 50 Lbs or so. Surely if there is a leak it will show up by the time you hit 50 PSI.
