Example 2000 Engine RPM....1.5:1 gear....shaft will turn 1333 RPM

Not only gas fumes but bilge odors will be circulating through the cabin.
Even worse is the possibility of Carbon Monoxide

Might consider a CO detector........even after you get the "Smell" problem corrected..........Carbon Monoxide is oderless and deadly
