Tony-Murphy gauges? If so, they can be adjusted with a small allen wrench inserted in the center of the face of the gauge. You can raise/lower the point where the alarm goes off (where the moving needle hits the stationery "setting" arm.

Joe-4BT's had a problem with injecter tips falling into the cylinders. Cummins acknowledged it was a flaw and provided updated injecters and made good on the damaged cylinders to those who had it happen. Make sure that what you are looking at have had that updating.

The only nuance I can think of is that if this rule is applied to the Coast Guard itself, most of us have not noticed that our Captain's "license" no longer says that. Your document now clearly states that you are a "U.S. Merchant Marine Officer". THAT may be the loophole they are now applying.

I have found that at Montauk, since I switched to Valvetech's fuel, I have no soot on my transom any more. Now that's diesel, but I expect there is a greater maintenance of tanks that sell it. My experience.

400 Mako and several 250+ Threshers taken off Montauk not to mention Blue Sharks last weekend. The Mako was supposedly hooked at 1:30 pm and they didn't get back to the dock till 9:00 pm. Missed the tournament deadline (would have won). Sounds like light tackle to me. Those are your waters. Go to it!
