Different? 28 lines out? With two wire lines 250' out I have to worry about guys tangling them up, not only when one has a fish on, but if either of them is accidentally at a different length, they can foul each other on a slooow turn.

God! No thank you. Looks like what "Bull" Halsey's fleet must have gone through in the Pacific when he miscalculated what the typhoon would do and ran with it. If I am not mistaken they lost a few destroyers and destroyer escorts in that storm.

I have the Xantrex/TruCharge and am very pleased with it. I would suggest however that you mount it under the dinette where it is visible and DRY. I sent my first one back after only a few months because of signs of rust and corrosion when it was mounted in the engine area.

The key is leaving the scales on. I do it with Striped Bass, Bluefish, Porgies etc. Put the grille lid down so the heat circulates rather than just go up...especially on thick fish pieces.

Another week has passed (that makes it two) and if you run your boat faster than 12-15 kts anywhere between Gardners Island and Montauk Point, you are nuts. Not that there aren't boats running 30+, but the waters are still full of trees, telephone poles and sheets of plywood. Be forewarned.

My boat originally had 440 Chryslers. It came with 4 chrome side scoops (2 on each side) taking air in, and 4 chrome flat clamshells facing backwards connected to hoses and blowers getting fumes out. The scoops on mine are inobtrusive and impossible to replace.

More of these accidents are Autopilot caused. Never leave it unattended unless going very slow (land a fish, etc). At 30 knots, you're asking for trouble that will be hard to explain away.
