That's why mine is under my dinette table. I found things rusting when it was in my engine box. The screws that held the wiring froze up. I complained, sent it back, and to their credit, they sent me a new one. Mounted where it is, it looks like the day I got it 3+ years ago. Walter

I know it's a pain in the ass but if the port one fits right, pull it and slip it on your starboard shaft. If you have the problem again, it's the starboard shaft. If it fits, it's in your new starboard prop's hub. Walter

David- There are a lot of good battery chargers out there now. Most all are solid state. If you have no plans to make any major changes on your boat ie: conversion to diesel, adding a fridge, air conditioning, another bank of batteries, etc. you have a world of good name solid state battery chargers...

I would suspect that given the environment and the problems with dissimilar metals, they should be stainless straps or totally non-metal ones. I know that every year when I get my liferaft serviced, it's rebanded with stainless straps. Perhaps a source? Walter

Harv- Talk to Randall. He poured acetone into the vave cover/oil fill. Took out his sparkplugs and turned his engine over and bathed his cockpit in what he described as asphalt. Seems it dissolves ethanol goo. You might need a head cleanup rather than a rebuild. Walter
