i purchased a half tower from a member here, but it had a canvas top. imo canvas is a pia.
i went ahead and formed/glassed a top that was about 2" wider than the railing the canvas tied to.
overall, it was just under 9 feet long, and just under 6 feet wide.
hope this helps...

Saw a 31 FBC sitting in their driveway over the weekend.
4" side exhaust, glassed in front windshield, transom fishbox, and i think Cabera engine boxes.
I remember someone on this site was asking about boat yards.

i had to return a bunch of 6" exhaust tubing, and there was no issue at all.

Re: Best Way to Cut into Hull Side
John, I've always used a jig saw with a metal blade for most of my work. The metal blade ( bosch T111 or T118 comes to mind) doesn't do the damage that a wood blade usually does. I would cut about 1/8" inside the line, then angle it with a dremel tool. You will be amazed how much a dremel can eat up...

Sean, i saw that boat about 5 years ago in the "american custom yacht" yard in Stuart, fl. remember too AJ, that you should drill atleast one screw hole thru the hull for each strainer, and tie it to your bonding system.

it would be a silver lining w/ this project, if that's the case....

Mike,
it's definately diesel.
the engine was sitting level
yes, we idled it for a few minutes before shut off
there is no obstruction at the venting nipple.
the engine seems to be running rich, maybe a valve seal or re -setting of valve lash?

Dug,
I went with 3/16"s tempered and a charcoal tint.
I wanted to go with 1/4", but the windshield insert gets pretty skinny where the the front of the glass butts up, and i still wanted to use an inside trim piece to hold up against the glass.
