I had the vac truck come out today to get rid of the 100 gallons of 9 year old gas that has been sitting in the boat. Worse case thoughts have been on my mind since i purchased her, but the previous owned had said that he never used ethanol gas. After having it sucked out and cleaned, i now know he ...

Re: found a set of numbers today
Pete,
the hull # is 1442, but the location that you described under the ledger board is right on.
no white paper, no name, just the set of numbers stenciled into that beautiful green fiberglass.

found a set of numbers today
Good afternoon all. I found a set of numbers this afternoon and i'm curious what they stand for. They are directly below the rear deck support (that runs the entire width of the stern) on the interior center line of the stern. The numbers are "315 281". They are not hand written, but maybe painted w...

6 inch exhaust flange
Good afternoon Faithful. Getting ready to install my new bronze exhaust flanges for the 6" exhaust (outboard of the stringers), but i have run into a mind boggle. If i stay with the factory chrome scupper rings, i'm left with about 3/8" from the bottom of the stern on the flange. Does this sound rig...

yeah, i just stripped the transom on my 74' last month.
one spider crack from just above the drain hole to about 2 inches below the waterline turned out to be one big void.
it's much better now.....

Bruce,
If it's around a weak Cat 3, just a couple cartons of marlboro lights.
Anything above that, and the marlboro red's will be the best bargaining chip.
Now that i know, you'll be the 1st person i look for after the riots start. :)

Re: marble like substance
Yes, i have been very careful not to cut any strands, but the stuff is so thick in a few places that it has popped a little fuzz off the fiberglass.
it's white w/ a little blue in it, and has very sharp edges when chipped off.
Thanks again Capt. Pat,
Eric

hey guys,
what is this stuff that Bertram used in between the engine beds and the stringers? I'm softly chiseling it off as i prep for the dreaded "grind". it's anywhere from 1/8" to 1/2" thick.

Re: Cockpit Side Panels
The center section of the deck has flanges on both sides, so the center is screwed down first. The out board sections are positioned and screwed down with three screws to the outboard joists. The inboard screws are set from below, angling up to the underside of the deck, then a latex caulk is run d...

i use to have an old a-body 67' cuda that we shoved a 500hp+ 440 in and had a blast with it.
sold it to a buddy, and when the B31 gets completed, i'll get back to finishing my 69' convertible cuda.

beautiful set up Bob, and they will look great when you're done.
an old buddy of mine had the same in his 69', the only issue was for the not so aware individuals getting in and out of the car.
the sweet smell (and later screaming) of burnt and bubble blistered ankles.

Re: Top 50 Boats?
I owned two different Mako 261s over the years, great boats. [ Many different Makos were nominated, but in the end, we felt the 25 was more influential. It was the first big offshore center console from a major builder and was a game changer when it came out in 1975.[/quote] and the funaments made t...

John,
Please pass on the template pictures when you get them. I just pulled the 454's, and now i'm in the process of figuring out the new bed dimensions for my cummins 300's.
Thanks,
Eric

If so, what did you use to make it adhere the the formica?
