2 Gallons of primer is a good start for the whole boat.
just over a quart and a half for the hull finish.
just under a gallon for the topsides of finish.
You can adjust as you go along.
Good Luck

The reason we do this
Thought I'd share with some folks who may appreciate it. My sons first tuna at age 8. That pic will put a smile on my face for the rest of my life. Kinda makes all that sandin and paintin worth while.

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k38/glsctr/P5190033.jpg Here's our set up. It works. The center rigger is above the outrigger tips in the fishing position. Very functional, keeps the spreader bars dancing up nice and high. If we are tuna fishing it 6.8 kts 1-2 spreader bars and 2 daisy chains. Th...

Sorry but Hynautic steeirng is the best. Anything with a pressurized canister that tells you whats going on is better then the best closed (potentially leaking) steering system on the market today. The new rams don't make the turns or perform near as well as the old hynautic systems. In order to mee...

sportfish or fbc? The redo is 13 years old- the 210's push the boat at what 21-22kts cruise. The last boat I remember similar to that was a fbc with solid glassed in front, good electronics (radar fishfinder gps)and 2000 hours on the B series 210 engines. That boat sold for under 65K. If it is a spo...

I like the Yacht stripe which follow the water line. You should float her before guessing at it. I think the yacht stripe gives the bow a little more presence. Most of the boats have a boot stripe which follows the chine. The bottom line is the boot stripe is easier to paint- face it all those lifti...

You need to be careful how early a boat you get. Some very early hulls continued to shrink and the gelcoat got a kind of alligator skin to it. No matter what you do short of gel pealing the boat the skin creeps back. The later boats experienced a lifting strake change which dried them up a bit and h...

Mikey, With 1.5" shafts you don't want to go over 20" diameter. There's a formula that I forgot but it basically says 20 is safe and 21 not so safe. We run Cummins 330 with ZF 220a 1.5-1 gears. Props are Michigan 3 blade 20x25 with #5 cup. Cruise at 2500 rpm is close to 28 kts. Wide open throttle is...
