Would you place peel n ply on the hatch, epoxy up the supports and then put the hatch in place? If you were fortunate it would make a nice fit.... if you don't epoxy the hatch in place...

My guess is the epoxy will bubble. I would not really worry about that it does not look to be an area where the cosmetics are important. If it bugs you just pass a butane torch over the bubbles and they will pop. I am generally a neat worker but I loose like 30 IQ points (I don't have 'em to spare) ...

Thank you for your help.
The oil reports came back well for the engine oil and trace of water for the drive oil. Seller agreed to a price reduction to replace the seals in the outdrive... my brother in law will own the boat in a couple of days.
