I had a leak once from the oil sender unit that was mounted on the back of the block and it leaked down over the bell housing. This one had rusted to the point that it was doing a pretty good leak.

I had checked on the pricing of the fiberglass tanks a while back and they wanted about $4,500 then. They've probably gone up since then, but I do know that who ever makes the tanks for Hightide has a mold for my 190 gallon tanks.

Try spraying some penetrating fluid or CX around the threads and let sit overnight. I had the same problem getting mine out, but I eventually succeeded after letting the threads soak. I also had to use an 18 inch breaker bar.
