Volvo IPS props are forward-facing, Cummins/Merc are rearward. I read on the Cummins site that the skeg is designed to shear if it takes a big hit. Ostensibly to reduce repair costs to the pod. This is no Bertram 31, it's a 31 Higgins built on a bertram 31 Hull. When she's done there will be no other boat like it. I regularly wonder how you continue to have the drive to do all this day in and day out.
