That amount of water seems unbelievably high. May want to check the orientation of your vents, vent loops, and look for other ways that rainwater/seawater can get into the system. It's been raining quite a bit up there, right?

It's a little low, but that's a good thing. You have the same transducer I have. I mounted mine level with the hull. I was going to re-mount to look like your picture, but it seems that doesn't work either!

I think you are correct regarding the 1/2" ply in the forepeak/cuddy ceiling. The glass is fairly thick so you might be safe with 1/2"or so, screw. Mcmaster has all sorts of edge protectors and grommets you can use for the anchor locker bulkhead.

Ha! I like that picture by the ATM!! 16 x 17 should be really close. You need to get the boat loaded to a normal condition and test. That Suzuki likes to spin up, so 17 might be perfect.
