That brings back memories! Put-N-Bay, Kelley's, some winery on Middle Bass. Round House. Topless women everywhere. I lost alot of brain cells over there. We used to run a Marinette out of Catawba. Of course, I sure it's very family friendly and civilized these days...

Run? no way! Just getting the first primer coats blocked down. Dust is flying! I used UPS freight to ship the engine. Things got a little interesting when UPS said they lost my shipment, but it turned up after a couple of days...right where it was supposed to be. They ended up charging me $200 less ...

I would use both. A couple coats of grey covered with a couple coats of white. The grey will act as a burn through "tell tale" when you block sand.

Even around the raised edges? Pretty amazing. Maybe the boat didn't sit out the sun for extended periods. Mine has all sorts of mini craters along that edge from gel coat voids, etc.. Hit it with 3 or 4 coats of 545 and see what you get. If you can skip the Hull gard step you'll save a bunch of work.

Re: Fairing & Primer Q
Scot, I know exactly what you mean. When you make it white, all the bumps and dimples show up. I did major amounts of shaping and fairing before priming. It may have been easier to seal the surface first, then try to make it smooth. If you are down to Bertram green glass on the cap, then you are pro...

Scot, Per the Awlgrip manual, you should first prime with 545 or hull guard or awlquik to seal the substrate, then apply Awlfair, then seal with 545 and repeat until your arms fall off. But...I don't think it's a big deal to fair over the interlux. You are relying on a mechanical bond, hit it with 8...

If it's inside and you don't want a shiny finish, I would use teak oil. If you want a shiny finish you'll need to build layers of varnish.

All new rigging came with it. Just need to get the boat finished and we'll hang it. Maybe next winter.

Filling pinholes...best method?
I spent all my boat cash on an engine, so my 25 is back home with me to finish priming and possibly paint. My builder was able to spray AllQuick and many gallons of 545 on the boat before I had to pull it. These materials filled most of the pinholes, but I still have many many to deal with as I bloc...

Re: b25 Bracket design
Corey, It gets more complicated given you want a twin engine bracket. The transom bump out is not wide enough to fit a 26" twin engine spacing. The engine mounting part of the bracket will be wider than the transom bump out. Creating a template straightforward. Determine the mounting height of the b...

Re: advice for painting engine boxes & cockpit panels
Paint is the easy part. Prep and primers are the key to success. At a minimum, they'll need to prep the surface and shoot 545. You might want to review the Awlgrip application guide that is available on line.

You don't measure it, you make a template. The bitch is determining the right height for the bracket on the boat. Stainless Marine is in Florida. Raybo gave you the real world results from a bracket conversion....clearly not recommended. Cut the transom and hang a G2 200HO on the boat and I'll bet she'll run great.
