Re: Planning a restoration project B25. Soliciting Advice
I eliminated the tank hatch in my re-imagined B25. I know where it is, and where to cut, if needed. Of course, at my pace, it may not see any fuel for a looong time! I'm in rigging hell now. It's fun, but it takes alot of time when every bit and piece is a custom fit. https://www.amazon.com/photos/s...

Good luck! Since you haven't bought the boat yet, here are a few items to check in pre-purchase inspection: Pull the tank hatch...OEM tank? Fiberglass? If glass, you'll probably replace due to ethanol concerns Check the wood in the cuddy ceiling around the forward deck hatch and vents. This area is ...

Re: Bertram 25 Floor and Chine
I think you are referring to the z-section that runs all around the deck to hull side joint. If so, try to keep that piece on the boat when the deck is cut out. If it is gone, it can be filled with section of Coosa, or similar. Glass hull side over the filler and onto the deck. It is a REAL PAIN to ...

Thank you for the photo and comments. Do you recall the InstaTrim part number, Joe? Yannis - not much of a US presence with Hydrotabs, but I like parts of the design. The console is so wide (how wide is it, Cam?) that it almost rests on the stringers. There are bulkheads below deck that provide additional support. It weighs a ton because of the large size and the materials I used. ...

Permanently mounted the center console yesterday. This is a shot of it suspended from another one of my beam creations. It weighs over 300 pounds, so it's tough to lift by myself :-D Lots of sticky goo and fasteners. It will support the T-top. https://www.amazon.com/photos/shared/-uVT923GSi-8S-X0d4j...

I had my tank made with dual pickups (and fills) in case I went with twins. Incremental cost is negligible. With the Suzuki I think you are limited to a single charging circuit. My Evinrude has an auxiliary charging circuit for a house battery. Consider installing an ACR circuit to charge the house ...

Corey, Re-coring the bump out is not too difficult. Hardest part, and most of the labor cost, is getting all the old wood out! I couldn't make that work without extending the setback. The water line is a long way up from the keel, and you'll want a 30" shaft engine. Soren over in Denmark used a Port-a-Bracket which has more setback and much more lift. Here are a few pictures I saved from the old days of the B25 board: https...
