Based on my gymnastics exercise, you don't need any lift to clear water at 10 inch setbaxk. Could use a fixed bracket with slight notch in transom.

That looks pretty reasonable. What is wire in the upper part of the picture? Thru-hull transducer? Yannis - it was open and foam is cheap. The idea was to add a little flotation and ride quality in that area, since we didn't have anything planned for outboard of the stringers. Closed cell foam. Ther...

Next time you are out on Lea Island, or cruising Banks channel, or running the ICW, or walking a marina in the area, count the number of I/O boats you see.

If you see one, it is likely owned by a northern transplant that has just moved to the area and hasn't had the time to sell it.

Most of it was brute force with epoxy fairing compounds, but I did use some 2oz cloth forward of the gas fills to see if that would cut down on the "fill, sand, repeat cycles", and it did. I agree with Yannis. The stringers form a nice plane to set a flat deck. If you want it raised, just add a spacer on top. And you don't really need bulkheads outboard of the stringers. There is no significant volume outboard to worry about. The only outboard bulkheads I used were around the fuel fil...

If your not planning on running it, I'm not sure a sea trail will yield any useful information other than it floats. I guess it depends on how $$ you are spending. The engines/outdrives are worth scrap prices. Everything else, probably less.
