Re: Bertram 25 conversion to an outboard powered CC
Ouch! that is Tight! Thoughts: 1. You need a hatch over the fill/vent/bond location unless your deck hatch is removable. 2. Can you box in the area on either side of the tank for wire chases? 1 1/2" is very small. I quickly ran out of wire chase capacity and had to get creative. One way to add capac...

Re: Bertram 25 conversion to an outboard powered CC
If you can't move the axles back, can you move the stop and the supports forward a bit? That's a good idea. I can move the stand forward at least a foot. Can't move the rollers, but they should be fine in place. The trailer supports the boat with keel rollers and stabilizes it with the side rollers...

I tried to weigh the rig on the way to get gas, but the truck stop had pulled their scales out years ago (don't rely on web site data). My guess is 4500 dry. Nice recovery! What material are you using as a spacers for the tank? Do you have drain holes in the tank area? Everything should drain aft. It looks like your holes are forward? It's tough. I gave up on trying to "manage" drains. Everything drains to the bilge and runs aft. Sorry for your troubles, but it's not the Total Bilge product. I've used it almost everywhere that I need a bilge coat and it worked fine in all areas except the center console sole where I applied it much too thickly.
If that's the only part of the project you have to re-do, you'll be very lucky!

Pros: - very lightweight - easy to cold form - paintable - relatively cheap Cons: - very brittle - don't hold fasteners well in my opinion - "flimsy" I used the PVC for helm seat bottom and back pans, then pulled them off and re-made the parts from starboard. Also played around with PVC for coaming ...

I am not aware of an electric version. I fought buying a good compressor for a long time, but now wish I had bought it early on. You applied it too thickly which resulted in solvent entrapment (skin cures and inhibits the cure in the bulk). Interestingly complicated!
Another random thought is to run the electric pump in parallel with the mechanical fuel pump to act as a "primer", with a momentary switch.

Seems like you are in a position to test the high speed flow rate now. Run the raw water hose while underway and see if/when the flow drops off. If the flow stays strong, you're probably good to go for the bait well.

Its analogous to your house wiring. Assuming you are 30 amps/125volt on the input, then 10 AWG wire (triplex) to the main breaker. Branch circuits are sized for loads 15 amps is 14AWG, 20amps is 12AWG. Insert a GFCI outlet in the first box of your outlet string(s). Think of the GREEN wire like your ...

I hear you. I am the poster child for over-thinking and creating complexity from simplicity. My suggestion is to not use that knee. I guess I don't understand what failure mode you are trying to prevent with this knee/gusset. You are inserting a relatively weak brace from a really strong member (transom) to a weak stringer. If you are concerned about: 1. upper jackplate bolts pulling out - use a long flat bar to distribute the l...

I don't think it means anything. Looks like a good tank. Bond wire should be connected to the sender, might want to replace the fuel pipe with hose, maybe R&R the fuel fill and vent hoses while you are in there. You could pull the tank and have it cleaned and pressure tested for peace of mind.
