Carl, What about outboards then? They are also aluminum chunks hanging in the water. Also, before you say that they are in the water ONLY while they are working and are lifted up while at rest, I bet there is less than 10% of them being COMPLETELY lifted up so as not to touch the water and continue...

For my 63 B25: Boat US told me that as of Jan 1, 2020 they no longer write boat policies for 50+ year old vessels. Boat US and Giego are the same. I called Progressive and they wrote a policy over the phone with some agreed value $40k limit based on verbal.

I moved the cleats up to the cap. That is a serious hatch!

Not trying to give you more work ideas, but if you are "done for the season" on the boat, you could make a mold for the transom close-out and built it off the boat! :-D Could incorporate the transom cleats in this module.
