Re: reinforcing an area for swivel rod holders
I made and glued in a set of gussets to tie the entire "cap" to the hull sides, but my performance criteria was near zero deflection when standing on the cap, not hauling in a 600 lb tuna. I also flipped the cap upside down and reinforced the entire underside with 17 oz biax. It "strong like bull". ...

Wow...this got complicated. Threading aluminum? Really? Even I wouldn't do that! :-D As Carl said, the threading is not important as the load is almost pure shear. You can keep this simple by glassing in a piece or two of plywood and mounting the cleat with stainless lag bolts. All you really need t...

Good idea using the pultruded fiberglass shapes. I didn't discover these until later in the project or i would have used them in place of the aluminum angle on the console. I eventually used many shapes and sizes, sourced from McMaster-Carr.

My guess is moisture contamination, or maybe oil, in the air. What are you using for a compressor? How are you drying the air? Re: B25 Glasswork beginning, what to do about the scuppers
I moved mine up about an inch to follow the new height of the deck, and added a third scupper. Really depends on the trim of the boat. Mine is riding a little high right now, so I don't get any water flowing on to the boat. The scuppers work fine for removing wash down water. I would not remove them.
