Parker makes a simliar line of boats. Also sold under the Maycraft brand. There are quite a few in North Carolina (made there). I have only been on one, and it was a 25. Solid feel, but not a great ride in headseas with twins on the bracket, but might work well in the Bay.

Check your local county landfill. They may accept old gasoline as part of their HAZMAT program. Mine does...I hauled the old tanks to the landfill and siphoned 50 gallons into their drums. Saved the cost of hiring a commercial service.

I'm using the 8" Accon pull-ups in the stern and mid ship positions. No service history yet, but I am impressed with the construction. I found them on e-bay for around $40 each new. "Retail" is over $100. I think the e-bay store was Sailor's Exchange.

Peter, System Three makes a very low viscosity epoxy called Clear Coat. It works really well for sealing wood. A couple of coats will seal the wood and build up like 10+ coats of varnish. I had a similar problem with the 1980 Johnson 35 on my whaler. New CD fixed it. I don't remember the cost, but it was much less than $225.

Here's a concept that might be worth some discussion. Convert a B31 from straight inboards to pod drives. Cummins/Mercruiser Zeus drives are available in a 5.9l package with hp ranges 350 to 480. Those chocks look to be the same as used on the 25. Mine had a 3/4" plywood backing plate and used #12 or 1/4" machine screws for attachement.
