Re: Orca sighting near Seattle
With the abundance of videos of people swimming among killer Whales it’s pretty clear how safe we were. We had a female come nudge the boat one time up in the San Juan Islands…..we probably overreacted when we saw her calf close by, and thought she was being protective and aggressive……looking back a...

Re: Orca sighting near Seattle
I grew up 20 miles south of Seattle. When I was 14 or 15 we were scuba diving at saltwater state park. We were about 150’ off the beach in maybe 30’ of water when 2 orcas came up about 20’ from us……cool experience looking back…..scared the shit out of me at the time.

I’m all good. We got power back on Sunday…..about 50% of the Parishes power is restored. It still looks like a war zone down here. I’m in Houma, La and we took a direct hit. I keep my B28 at my camp 20 miles south of here and had minor damage, but it destroyed about 6-8 camps in our subdivision. My ...

I have a book on the Bay of Pigs that describes a 31B fitted with a 50 cal, that strafed a hotel from Havana bay. Don’t think they hit anyone…..pretty sure book is called Shadow Warrior. I look for it at home later. Supposedly they had a picture on the front page of a Miami newspaper with a pic of t...

Yep, we right in the Bullseye. Houma, la..
All calm now, outer bands will start hitting us in the morning. Some extra lines on the boat and the liquor cabinet is strapped down.
Reports of Jim Cantore prowling the neighborhood.
Let’s see what it looks like on Monday at noon.

Carl, I’m not much help, as I didn’t pay close enough attention. But just to share a little from our trip to Tropic Star last month. We got a whirlwind tour of the boat shop and the foreman, Rudy, showed us a few 31s under repair. All FG tubes for the upgrades. He uses pvc and an engine template to ...
