Re: Oh Boy, here comes Florence
I moved from CT to Southport, NC in June. Took boat down July 4th weekend and it took 3 days and didn't take a spray of salt on the bridge...perfect flawless trip. By late July we received about 30" of rain in Southport, NC. Not too bad other than some minor flooding issues. Dried out in August then...

I've been visiting the sandbox for sometime but not posting lately. I've decided to move to Southport, NC and by mid-July I'll be taking the boat for a good run from Stamford, CT to Southport, NC to her new home. Planning on doing approx. 200 nautical/daily so if weather is good should be there in 4...

Rawleigh, you know it's not too bad since it's fully enclosed with sound shield. I installed it on rubber pads to reduce the vibration but like most genis you can hear and feel it running but not annoying. Biggest issue is the exhaust is sometime below waterline and this causes a wet transom and bub...

I have the Fischer Panda 4.0 and it fits on port side next to Cummins 6BTA. A little tight but it went in no problem. If you want pics I can send later today. This 1 cylinder diesel unit runs at 3600 RPM but burns no fuel...I think 1/4 gal/hr. and it can run reverse cycle A/C & heat.

I've read or heard that any cleaning product that contains some bleach that is not rinsed off completely may cause pink spots on vinyl and the stitching. Once it turns light shade of pink it's difficult to remove. No idea why this reaction occurs.

I have a blue hull and it's a lot of care to keep it looking good. It always needs to be freshwater sprayed after running cause when dry all the salt crystals appear. Also, if you get any nicks or scratches they show. Blue looks great but requires maintenance.
